Someone once said
Fall in love with me again
For now, at least… I'll leave you later
But I don't know when.

Reinvent your memories
Even truth has a limit
You promise to never do it again
You're such a hypocrite

Stare into the sun
Until it begins to make sense
Capture another sin
I see it was all a pretense

Clouds block the moon
Even truth has a limit
You're exposed forevermore
As a phony counterfeit

You don't love me
It had to end this way
You've been cheating on me
You and I have fallen astray

Hold me this one last time
Even truth has a limit
I feel closer to death
Even if you didn’t mean it
The ups and downs of love are so confusing you need a bloody elevator to understand them...

This poem reminds me of a song called Reason to Believe. It was originally by Tim Hardin, but Bobby Darin's cover is my favourite. It's the lyrics that count anyway. You can listen to it here if you're interested.

This is really beautiful, though sad. Nice work.

It's amazingly written. So bitter and emotional...
