During this heat spell
There's a scent of war on the wind
We discuss the possibility of revolution
We use ambulances for basic transportation
And let the wind carry us to heaven
No one wants it this way
The end is here at last
We repeat the mistakes of history
While we practice for death
You keep rewriting history
Only to discover in horror
Even the gods must die
There's a scent of war on the wind
We discuss the possibility of revolution
We use ambulances for basic transportation
And let the wind carry us to heaven
No one wants it this way
The end is here at last
We repeat the mistakes of history
While we practice for death
You keep rewriting history
Only to discover in horror
Even the gods must die
In #PoetryPlease we had a contest to write a poem with 12 lines featuring the war in Isreal and Hezbollah.
I joined the contest too late and had about 5 minutes to whip something... this is my result.
A 12-line about war and repeating mistakes.

Thinking up a poem in 5 min? Very cool! lol
Seriously, I think you've captured the emotions, the feelings, even the scenery, that I myself can only imagine must be commonplace along the border very well. It's cool how your speaker simply states these lines rather than trying to descibe the feelings. Makes for a greater, stronger read.
I like the 2nd stanza and the line "We discuss the possibility of revolution" the best
Nicely done!
